Goesting Utrecht: a very special spot in the old dog kennels of the Veeartsenijschool (the former veterinary school). Not a hype, but very good indeed since 2001. Katy and Ron started out as an exclusive restaurant in 2001. A kind of oasis in the city. Since 2010 they have very deliberately focused on a much wider audience.

Utrecht is special
Katy and Ron think Utrecht is special because our Dom city is a vibrant, historic city. A lot happens culturally. The city is popular with tourists. But fortunately our city isn't yet too popular with tourists. That's why our city still keeps a village character. The mix of (Dutch and international) students, business visitors, tourists and ‘new’ and ’original’ Utrechters creates a special atmosphere.
Oasis
Goesting makes Utrecht a little more fun, because we're based in a unique green location in the city. In this unique green location we've been able to offer a lovely, proven product for a long time. And we do it with great pleasure!
We started in 2001, but since 2010 Goesting has, very deliberately, been a lovely place for a wider audience. We're open 7 days a week for lunch, drinks and dinner. From simple to luxurious, at Goesting it's a real treat.
The future of Goesting Utrecht
The future plans for Goesting Utrecht are to keep up consistency in quality and service, with the help of our steady and enthusiastic team. We also think our own ‘Goesting’ beer would be really special and cool. And perhaps one day a fish bar along Scandinavian lines. For example, ‘Goesting aan Zee’ (Goesting by the Sea) (and it doesn't literally have to be by the sea; it could just as well be in our beautiful Dom city).
Wittevrouwen
Katy and Ron expect Wittevrouwen and the Zeeheldenbuurt to be just as beautiful and atmospheric in 5 years' time. It's a village in the city. Wittevrouwen and the Zeeheldenbuurt are of course hugely loved by this duo, but even so, they think the most beautiful spot in Utrecht is the Museumkwartier.
The best-kept secret
According to Ron and Katy, the best-kept secret of Utrecht is the ‘Eindeloos gedicht’ (Endless Poem) along the Oudegracht, level with the Smeebrug. Every Saturday afternoon a new letter is added…
The best-kept secret of Goesting itself is our dinner garden. On lovely summer evenings you can enjoy it here as if you're on holiday. The garden is ‘hidden’ behind our building, on De Biltsche Grift. The dinner garden is completely enclosed by greenery, so lots of people are really surprised when they come here for the first time.
