2018
For me, 2018 was a special year. At the start of the year I was recovering from an operation, and just when I was a bit back on my feet I had an accident on the ski slopes. I wasn't feeling great in myself and didn't feel in the right place at work. In June 2018 I really didn't know what I wanted or how to carry on. I had so many ideas, wanted so much to put my creativity to use, build a real bond with my clients and go that extra step. I chose to hand in my notice without a plan. I called my father and together we made a plan. Sooner than expected and sooner than planned, my own estate agency was a reality.

Estate agent in Utrecht
I didn't just start Gusto Casa; I also took over Jan van Erp's office: van Bokhorst & Van Erp Makelaars. A traditional agency in Utrecht Oost. In some respects I'll stay traditional: taking time for my clients, a walk around the neighbourhood, personal contact, extensive analyses and direct communication. But given my marketing background, I can't help being innovative and creative too. The best of both worlds. Innovative and young, but good in the old-fashioned way. So Gusto Casa is highly visible on social media. I also went to San Francisco in search of the answer to the question: ‘What is the future of the estate agent?’.
An office of my own
As of 1 January 2019, the office on the Stadhouderslaan is no longer in use by Van Bokhorst & Van Erp Makelaars. From 25 January 2019, the office will be located at Amsterdamsestraatweg 184 in Utrecht. A street in full development, an office that feels like a living room. Everyone is welcome to pop in and ask for advice.
2019
For me, 2018 was a party from August onwards! Great clients, big challenges and successes. I wish everyone a very happy New Year. Lots of health, happiness and love. Shall we make 2019 an even bigger success together?
